How To Make Your Slip Dress Winter-Friendly

BY STEFANIE BLANCH

We’ve seen the slip dress move from the ultimate bedroom piece, to the slinky go-to date outfit, and now we are seeing it everywhere on the streets. We can dress it up for a night out or dress it down to run some errands- either way, we aren’t letting it out of our sights.

Whilst you’ll be forgiven for thinking that the onset of cooler weather means you skin-baring slip would get relegated to the back of your wardrobe, this couldn’t be further from the truth! Armed with a little inspiration from our favourite street style stars, you’ll be wearing your slip dress through the Winter months with ease.

Styling Tip #1

Be inspired by model Gigi Hadid and ass some grunge to this classic piece. By pairing a slip with leather boots and a denim jacket you can look as cool as you feel warm.

Styling Tip #2

Dress like it girl Kendall Jenner and pair the 90s trend with thigh-high boots, a duster jacket and a choker. Add the plain white tee for some extra warmth and you can wear this ensemble from night to day.

Styling Tip #3

Pair your slip with the ultimate street-style accessory: sneakers. Cinched at the waist with a contrasting belt, Bella Hadid’s take on the trend embraced the cool casual we need for the colder months.

Styling Tip #4

The classic slip is elegant, sleek and minimalist. Transition into your Winter simply by adding a crew-neck knit and pairing with sneakers for a warmer take on the trend. If you’re heading out, swap those sneakers for stilettos and dance through the night.

Styling Tip #5

Take a tip from Gigi again, but this time- add some faux fur. For a more relaxed feel add some fur slides and a jacket for comfort that is still worthy of the streets.
